Talent Show 2017

Our annual concert will be held in September again and will be a talent show similar to last year. There will be trophies and prizes awarded to performers but the concert will still be conducted in a relaxed, fun, family friendly manner without judges, categories and the formality that eisteddfods have. I would like to stress that we are not holding a competition, but rather an opportunity for students to showcase their talents. The prizes and awards are simply to reward those students who demonstrate a particular musical skill or accomplishment.

We encourage students of all levels to enter. If you are unsure of playing on your own, ask your teacher if you can perform a duet with them, or another student.

The TMC and MLM group classes will be performing as usual, and we will have some of our teachers displaying their tremendous talents as well. Group students will be playing together as an ensemble with their classmates and teacher, and more information regarding session times will be discussed during class time.

For private students who want to register to perform solo, or along with a friend, family member or teacher please click HERE for our concert registration form. Simply get the password from reception, fill in the form and submit it along with at least two session preferences. Once we have collected all the registrations you will be placed in a session and we will ask for a $6 registration fee to confirm your position in the event. There are limited places in each session, so please be quick to submit your preferences. We will endeavour to provide you with one of your requested session times while trying to offer a varied repertoire for the audience. Should you have any problems with the online registration please ask Chris, Talia or Adaya.

We would like all students and their families to arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of your session.  Once the concert begins we will not be letting spectators or performers in and out of the function room. Having people moving around during a performance is very unsettling for the student who is playing.

We have kept session times short to minimise children becoming bored and restless. However if you feel your child is being too noisy or disruptive please take them for a wander around the recreation centre and bring them in again later.

There will be tea, coffee, soft drinks and snacks available at the bar at the rear of the room. We ask that you purchase your beverages and food quietly so as not to disrupt the performers. Thank you for your understanding.

Tickets for audience members are available at the door on the day of the concert. Seating is not numbered, but the venue has a raised stage so you are sure to get a good view regardless of your seat position. Ticket prices are below:

$10 adult      $5 child/concession    $25 family
